Last weekend, our women’s ministry gathered for a special conference. This year’s event was different from anything we had done before. We incorporated video teachings, but what made it unique was hearing real stories from women in our church—stories that showed how God works through hurt, healing, and forgiveness in daily life.
Friday night was relaxed. We spent time talking about our expectations for the weekend, enjoying worship led by a guest team, and, of course, sharing snacks. Saturday started with breakfast before we jumped into teaching and testimonies. Amanda and Chrissy shared their story—one full of heartache, healing, and an unlikely friendship.
Chrissy started attending our church first, then experienced a painful divorce. Later, Amanda, the new girlfriend, began attending. It was awkward. People weren’t sure how to react—who to support, how to respond. But over time, these two women chose grace over bitterness. They built a real friendship and now co-parent their daughters in a way that reflects God’s love. Their story was nothing short of miraculous, a powerful testimony of forgiveness in action.
Discussion groups clicked in a way that surprised us. No one wanted to stop talking! Women from different generations shared, learned, and encouraged each other. By the end of the weekend, the theme was clear: God calls us to forgive, even when it’s hard.
One unexpected blessing? Several men from our church showed up to serve! They made breakfast and even stuck around to help clean up. It was a beautiful reminder that community is built when we love and support each other.
