A Simple Day of Creativity and Connection

On April 25, I had the joy of helping with our Women’s Pinterest Party, and it turned out to be such a sweet time together. The whole idea behind the event was simple: create a space where women could slow down, have fun, and enjoy fellowship while making something with their hands. When everyone arrived, they looked over the different craft options and signed up for three projects. Then we spread out through the gym and moved from station to station, learning from women in our church who shared their creativity and skills.

Each table had its own personality. We learned how to do sublimation on coasters, make natural sugar scrubs, create bejeweled pens, put together painted table decorations with a live plant, and make handmade cards. I loved seeing how much care each woman put into teaching her project. It was not just about the crafts themselves. It was about women serving one another, sharing what they knew, and making room for conversation along the way.

One thing that mattered to me was making the event welcoming to women of all ages, including girls who were 16 and older. That age can be a hard season of transition, and I wanted them to feel comfortable being part of the group. The day went smoothly, which felt like a gift in itself, and the atmosphere was light and relaxed. At one of the tables, the room even smelled like a spa, which made everyone laugh and added to the fun. We kept the snacks simple, but that fit the day perfectly. It really felt like a chance to hang out, breathe, and enjoy being together.

As I looked back on it, I felt thankful for how God used such an ordinary, hands-on event to strengthen connection among the women. I did not see anything flashy or dramatic, but I did see joy, comfort, and community. Sometimes that was exactly how God worked—through shared laughter, simple creativity, and women taking time to encourage one another. By the end of the event, it was clear that people wanted to do it again, and I walked away grateful for the chance to build fellowship in such a practical, personal way.
