I have the privilege of serving as an elder at Community Church, where I currently work with the Media Ministry and have recently taken on Young Adults Ministry. It’s a role that I take seriously, not just in terms of responsibility, but in how I live my life and lead my family. I truly believe that our actions speak louder than words, and my goal is to be an example of faith both in and outside the church.

Practically speaking, my role as an elder involves supporting the ministries I’m assigned to. That means checking in with ministry leaders, making sure they have what they need, and ensuring everything we do remains Christ-centered. Whether it’s media, sports, or now young adults, the goal is always to create opportunities for people to connect with Christ in a meaningful way. Discipleship is a big focus for me—helping people grow in their faith and then equipping them to disciple others.

My family plays a huge role in my faith journey. My wife, April, and I have been married for many years, and we have two incredible kids, Ariel and Matthew. Interestingly, it was actually our kids who first connected us to Community Church. They were invited to the preschool program here, and through that, we found our church home. That was back in 2006 or 2007, and we’ve been part of this community ever since. Now, years later, Ariel is about to be married in the very church that helped raise her in the faith, and Matthew is finding his own path as a young adult.

Outside of church, I have a passion for restoring vintage arcade games—think Pac-Man, Joust, and Space Invaders. It’s something I enjoy, even though it occasionally leads to minor injuries! I also love photography and videography, which happens to be my profession, but it’s also a creative outlet for me. Capturing a moment or telling a story through images and video is something I find really meaningful.

When it comes to faith resources, I always emphasize biblical accuracy. There’s a lot of information out there, but it’s important to discern what is truly rooted in Scripture. I frequently use BibleGateway.com to compare different translations and get a clearer understanding of passages. I also listen to sermons from biblically sound teachers to help deepen my understanding—though I always encourage people to check everything against Scripture itself.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to live out my faith in a way that draws others closer to Christ. Whether through leadership, discipleship, or just everyday conversations, I want to be intentional about sharing God’s truth.
